3 Orlando Resorts for a Late Winter Getaway

Sabah Karimi

If you're craving sunshine and want to enjoy a relaxing getaway for a long weekend, head to one of Orlando's resorts that are further away from Disney and other central attractions. Some of Orlando's larger, luxury resorts are located far from the main tourist hubs so you'll feel like you're really getting away from it all. You can find some great package discounts at this time of year, especially if you want to enjoy some spa services, are traveling with the family, or just need a bed and breakfast deal.

Here are just three Orlando resorts to consider for your late winter getaway:

Reunion Resort and Club

Reunion Resort is most well-known for its beautiful golf course but you can also enjoy some fun outdoor activities and easy access to Orlando's indoor attractions - and the newly-opened LEGOLAND - when you stay here. The resort has some of the best tennis courts in Orlando and also hosts a number of special events and activities on the property throughout the year. Since it's located far away from the major tourist sites on the golf course, you won't even feel like you're in tourist city. Take a fitness class, spend an afternoon at the spa, and enjoy some great food at one of the six restaurants on the property. This is one of those resorts where you could stay on the property for the entire length of your stay.

Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate

This resort is one of my favorites for spa treatments but you can enjoy all sorts of spa treatments included the lighted golf experience, lazy river rides, and the famous bagpipe serenade at sunset every night. This is another family-friendly resort that offers all sorts of resort activities and dining options. The health club and the arcade center are both open 24 hours per day. During the late winter months, enjoy some beautiful views of the pool and resort from your room, and settle in for a movie night or relaxing spa treatment to make the most of your visit.

Lake Eve Resort

Perfect for extended stay trips and traveling families, Lake Eve Resort is designed like a modern condo complex. All of the suites are furnished with modern furniture and contemporary décor, and every suite has a deluxe kitchen. The high-rise building is located in Lake Buena Vista so you're only a short drive from the outlet malls, Disney, and International Drive. The resort does offer complimentary shuttle service to Walt Disney World, Sea World, and Aquatica.
