3 Popular Places in Detroit, Michigan to Take a First Date

Dating can be an exciting and fun activity, but first dates can cause a person to be extremely nervous. This is especially true if your first date is with someone you're not sure about or you're spending time in a place that's really not appropriate for a first date. If you're going to be going on a first date soon with someone new and you live in the Detroit area, there are several places you may want to take your date in order to ensure that things go smoothly. Of course you can't guarantee that you and your date will be compatible, but these particular destinations can help make a first date more likely to go well. Traditional dinner and movie dates are great, but usually for a first date you don't want to be stuck in a theatre in the dark where you must quiet. In order to get to know a person, you must engage in conversation, but of course you'll be asked to leave if you keep talking while in a theatre. The following 3 Detroit area destinations are excellent places for taking a first date, for various reasons.

Chaplin's Comedy Club - What better way to break the ice on a first date with someone new then by laughing? This makes going to a comedy club an excellent idea. Although there are several comedy clubs in the Detroit area, in my opinion, Chaplin's Comedy Club, located on Groesbeck Hwy in Clinton Township, Michigan, which is about ½ hour east of Detroit, is the best choice. This comedy club features some of the funniest comedians, and the atmosphere is inviting. Admission into the club is $7 per person, except on Friday and Saturday when it's $12 per person. You and your date must be at least 21 years old to go for a date at Chaplin's, and ID will be checked at the door. You and your date can also go bowling, either before or after the show provided the first part of the date has gone well, since Chaplin's Comedy Club has its own bowling alley, Fountainview Lanes, which is located right next door.

Detroit Institute of Arts - There is no better place to get to know a date than at a museum. Being at a museum together enables you and your new date to discuss the things that interest you both, and you can also discover each other's likes and dislikes pertaining to art, which is important to many people. The Detroit Institute of Arts is located on Woodward Avenue in Detroit, and admission is $8 per person. You and your date will be able to explore this huge, 658,000 square foot museum, and after you're finished with your exploration, you can even dine together at Café DIA or stop for a cup of coffee at Kresge Court Coffee Shop, which are located right inside the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Outback Steakhouse - Couples have been enjoying lunch and dinner for years on first dates, and Outback Steakhouse is a perfect place to go in the Detroit area. The atmosphere there is wonderful and lively, the food is delicious, and you and your date can discover which favorite foods you have in common, and you'll also have the opportunity to get to know other things about each other while sharing a meal. One especially great Outback Steakhouse location is their Roseville location on South Gratiot Avenue. Roseville is east, not far from the city of Detroit. Two people can eat dinner at Outback Steakhouse for about $50 and lunch for somewhat less.
