3 Quick and Easy College Hairstyles for Frizzy Hair

S. Whithers
Styling your hair quickly is important in college when you have a class at 8 a.m. and you want to sleep in as much as possible, but look your best for class. Having hair that's prone to frizz can make it difficult to style your hair quickly as blow drying it can make frizzy hair worse and you don't have time in the morning to let your hair air dry. Try these quick and easy hairstyles that will reduce frizz and make you look good for college.

1. Smooth, Sleek Hair

Wash your hair in the morning. Towel dry your hair thoroughly so that your hair is dry as you can get it. Comb a quarter sized dollop of leave-in conditioner through your hair with a wide toothed comb. Blow dry your hair until your hair is still damp, but will air dry within the next five to ten minutes. Allowing your hair to air dry during the last part will reduce the frizz caused by blow drying.

While your hair is still a little damp, spray hairspray into your hands and then smooth your hands over your hair. This will smooth down any flyaways. Let your hair air dry the rest of the way.

2. Beachy Waves

Wash your hair the night before. Spray your towel dried hair all over with styling spray. Comb your hair with a wide toothed comb to evenly distribute the styling product in your hair.

Next, divide your hair in half from ear to ear so that there's an upper half and a lower half. Divide the upper half of your hair into three parts. Braid each third. Repeat with the bottom half, dividing it into thirds and braiding each third. Tie each braid off with a small elastic and string, trying not to crimp your hair.

Allow your hair to dry over night. In the morning, spray hairspray all over your braids. Then, take out the braids and gently tousle your hair with your fingers. Be careful not to over tousle your hair as this will cause frizziness, and be sure not to take a brush or comb to it.

3. Polished Curls

Wash your hair the night before. Towel dry your hair. Then, work curl enhancing mousse through your hair and comb it through. Let your hair dry over night.

In the morning, mist a heat protectant spray all over your hair. Then, divide your hair into sections and curl your hair with a 1" curling iron by wrapping 1" sections of hair around the barrel and holding on to ends. By not clamping your hair with the curling iron, you'll avoid having crimps in your hair. Brush through your hair once gently, being sure not to over brush your hair. Mist all over with hairspray.
