Customer service is a must. Although your business is operating online, shoppers still expect a high level of customer service. There will be instances when they have an issue with an online order or just need a little more information about a product or service. If there is no one there to answer their questions, then you have just lost a paying customer. Don't think that an online shopper will be satisfied with email address as a primary means of contact. This will definitely make them suspicious of your business and cause them to run away quickly. Outsourcing customer service to other companies will be worth your while. Having an always on customers service representative over the phone or via online chat is an excellent way to show online shoppers that your company really exists.
Non-functioning shopping cart. One of the largest reg flags to an online shopper is an error message while paying for an item. After placing the products into an online shopping cart and entering payment details, they receive an annoying error message. Once this happens, the online shopper will either immediately abandon the entire purchase or try it once again. As a business owner you must always check your online payment system. Most online shoppers will not try the purchase again because they do not trust the website. If this starts to happen frequently, then your business profits will start suffering greatly. If you are too busy to guarantee that everything is working well, then hire someone that can.
Speed up that web page. Although you may think that the beautiful graphics and designs of your business web page are wonderful, others may not. Bombarding a web page with all sorts of unnecessary gadgets and flash intros will only cause online shoppers to close the page. Not everyone has high speed internet. Some still have basic dial up and will not wait for slow loading pages. Find other ways to make your website stand out from the crowd. The main purpose of a business website is to allow the public to see what you have to offer and where to buy it. Keep your website well focused and streamlined for a more user friendly experience.
Take the time to make improvements to your business website and you will soon notice the increase in business profits. If you website is more customer friendly and functional, then its internet traffic will pick up. Online shoppers do not have time to correct our mistakes or wait until we do so. They want to find their desired products or services, pay for them, and then move on to the next website. Place yourself in the online shoppers shoes and you will have a better understanding of what they are looking for. After implementing these suggestions, you will be able to stop customers from running away from your website.
