3 Reasons Why the Tea Party is Wrong for America

Alfonso Coley
Is the Tea Party the real change America needs? Does their affiliation with the Republican Party speak for all Americans - or is the Tea Party a right wing movement that will become a passing fancy that will dissipate after all of the fan fare and hype comes to a close in the next year or two? What is the main focus of the Tea Party's primary goal; is it to inform Americans that they should oppose everything that president Obama is trying undertake in 2010? While most Americans are struggling with debt, and loss of jobs, the Tea Party has not come up with any sound answers on how their organization can help repair the sluggish U.S. economy.

The Tea Party does not seem like they are overly excited or interested in reaching out to African-Americans or other ethnic groups of color. Many organizations that oppose what the Tea Party is about complain that their group has no reverence or importance to what many ethnic groups feel - concerning what is truly happening in America. The Tea Party proclaims that they are a grass-roots organization, but yet most of the people that are involved in their organization are very well to do White-American men and women.

Several months ago the Tea Party voice was losing some steam and began to have some dissention between what their party was about. All of this would change when Sarah Palin would join the group - and help bolster their unappealing all around image. In truth, the Tea Party and the Republican Party has been the voice of no concerning their inflexibility to work with president Obama on many issues that affect so many Americans.

The Tea Party has nominated Sarah Palin as their spokesman to spread the wrong message to America, their underlying message is very disturbing, and many of the speeches have been about what is best for America - many that contain subtle racial overtones concerning President Obama.

Is this the true patriotic voice of America? Many American people of color do not think so, in fact - many people of color are quite aware of the Tea Party's goal, it is not to unite America, it is more so to the divide the people - moving away from racial equality, which in truth does make them a party of brainwashing opportunist.

Thanks for posting your comment on my Tea Party article. Obama's health care package will help millions of Americam people, despite what the Republicans say, but it is a shame that some state governors will deny their citizens the right to have some type of adequate health care.

I'm glad to hear stuff some sensible politics, because I heard about the Tea party on the BBC in the UK and it is quite terrifying what they are doing. There were hints of anarchism from some, and subtler hints of fascism from the people at the top.

The fact Obama has pushed through that healthcare bill means that many members of the USA will get a decent healthcare, meaning that the USA's healthcare will not be embarrassingly low when compared to other MEDCs.

If they do not agree with me or side with my opinion - then this is even more reason why anyone that opposes the Republican Party agenda need to voice their right to do so.

"Is this the true patriotic voice of America? Many American people of color do not think so..."

Many American people not "of color" agree with you. Hopefully they come out and vote when it counts.

I also doubt the tea party will be around in two years, they might be a scheme to make money too.

We now know that there are "layers" of racism in America. Like lying on a cozy mattress. Feels good on the outside, but pull off the top layer, and there is a pit of bacteria and disease. Good article Alfonso.
