The sophomore jinx has come to be that miserable bug that is well known to many second year NFL quarterbacks, and it may well happen to Mark Sanchez. Even though Sanchez has the tools he needs to lead the Jets to a Divisional Playoff, but fate may not be so kind to this budding superstar. Is Mark Sanchez a proven leader in the locker room and on the field? It would seem that it may take Sanchez a year or two to prove if he is the missing link that the Jets have been searching for.
There are not that many NFL quarterbacks that can single handedly take over a game, and there are many of mediocre NFL quarterbacks whom have had great players - and never win a Super Bowl Championship. The off season may prove to be a challenging time for Sanchez to prove that he is not a second year blunder.
Will the 2010 NFL season be a breakout year for Sanchez, or will it be a season he will like to forget?
Mark Sanchez will not lead the New York Jets to a Super Bowl in 2010 if his decision making prone him to throw costly interceptions when the game may be a point or two away from winning a big game. If by chance Sanchez does not become a student of the game, and learn to study film - gaining invaluable tips from some of the great quarterbacks whom have never won the big one - then he may also fall into the same category.
