3 Summer Essentials for Entertaining

Have you ever thrown a less than successful summer party? Are you the kind of person who wants to entertain, but is worried that your friends won't have a good time coming over to your house or apartment? Would you like some advice on how to make your summer parties even more fun than they've ever been?If your answer is yes to any or all of these questions you're in luck! For the last six years I've thrown dozens and dozens of extremely entertaining summer parties. In this article I will tell you the three things that are absolutely essential to make your summer party unforgettable - cooking supplies, games, and music.

Cooking Supplies - Grills and Blenders

As many of you know, the best way to most peoples' hearts is through their stomach. In the summer, this means great summer food, and even greater summer drinks. As far as the food goes, having a grill is absolutely essential. If you're an American, having a Weber Grill is really the way to go. After all, there is nothing that says summer more than your favorite meats and veggies having that particular Weber aroma of flame and charcoal. In regards to the drinks, I suggest spicing up your party beyond the usual Bud Light Lime and Sam Adams Summer. During my summer parties I've had the greatest success making smoothies with a blenders. If you don't have a blenders, I suggest getting one that is able to crush ice, such as this one. If you have a blender, but aren't sure the best kinds of alcoholic and/or non-alcholoic beverages to create, I suggest picking up this one.

Games

Let's face it - sometimes making conversation is difficult, even when large quantities of alcohol are involved. This is why I highly recommend purchasing a lawn game that everyone is sure to enjoy. From my party hosting experience, the three most popular games are croquet , badminton , and volleyball . These are all games that are incredibly easy to learn, and incredibly fun to play, especially after a few of your delicious smoothies. Furthermore, croquet , badminton , and volleyball are all extremely easy games to set up.

Music

Nothing says summer more than a good set of computer speakers blasting some classic summer tunes. If you don't have sufficiently loud computer speakers, I highly recommend purchasing these. They are wildly cheap, and have provided me and my friends with hours of summer entertainment. The best part about computer speakers is that you can use your Ipod or your computer to DJ. This allows your friends to easily bring over their favorite music. If you don't know what kind of summer music to play, I suggest asking your friends what their favorite music is.
