3 Things to Help Improve Your Life

A Preparation to Self Improvement

Ralston Heath
Be all you can be, become the best at what you do, be the best person you can be; you have probably heard these sayings a few times. So are you paying attention? These sayings have the keys to a great life in them. Are you somewhat contented with life the way things are? Or do you still aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

Aspirations we had as kids should continue to live within us; we should all have a dream. When you were young, did you desire to be something great? Did you dream and talk about what you were going to do when you grew up? Did you become great? Probably not as you listened to the negative crap from other people that told you that you could not do the things you wanted because; your too poor, too short, too tall, too this, too that and so on. So you traded your dreams for what you were told is "reality".

So you are seeking a way to learn about self improvement, in the hope that you will be able to restore joy and happiness to your life. Let me save you years of study; the answer to this question is the key to your happy and fulfilled life. Ready? Here it comes... Ask yourself this one question: What do I want from my life?

What do I really want? The question of the ages, and when you find the answer you will have solved most of your problems... Too busy? So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about it during the day. Find something, one thing, which you are good at. Then make time to do that every day. This simple act can help realize that small step towards the famous goal of self improvement.

Now here is the hard part; once you have learned what you are good at, you now need to discover what you want to do with that skill or talent or ability. Think, ponder, meditate, or whatever other method you prefer to find out what it is you want from life. Start with the dreams you had as a kid, then work out why you did not do that, then work out why you can or can't. Hint: Henry Ford said this about thinking; "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right", so think about your dreams and goals. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing too much scrutiny. And if it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

Now ask yourself this: Am I comfortable with what I'm doing? There's always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what to do every day. Things as simple as what goes with which shoes, and purse, (Or if you're a guy what tie and shirt to wear) all the way to helping other people survive a natural disaster. You make the choice every second of every day to either do the right thing, or not. So make the choice right now to always do the right thing. This is the second step to self improvement that is hidden deep within all the great tomes written about the subject. So once again in the same article you have been saved from years of study... Always do the right thing. So simple yet so hard, you will be tested daily on this so make sure you are committed.

It doesn't take a genius to see that you are someone unique, with different talents and skills. You can not be someone else; they are already taken. Remember; Variety is the spice of life, it brings in very interesting and exciting things to do and discover.

So here are a few things to consider on your quest to self improvement.

1. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontent can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you'll be able to see what it is you are doing right and what needs changed. 6. Am I happy at where I am today? So maybe you don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean you can't try. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

2. What motivates me?
It's an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life! What motivates you? It's an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make someone happy, but to choose only one of them may be the hardest part. It's not like you can't have a single serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that's it. Take as much as you want and try different things, try it piece by piece. This applies to your whole you; how much could you have? Suppose in this case there is no such thing on having too much or too little, but it's more on how badly you really need it. You would like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

3. What really makes you who you are?
You can be just about anything you ever wanted to be, but to realize that, and then attaining those goals may seem very difficult. It is not too difficult; it can be done, if and only if you take the necessary steps to do it. You can have whatever you want, but you must want it enough to do the things that have to be done to get it. Action is what makes things happen. Sitting on your couch and wishing that the food will show up will keep you hungry. But if you get up and go to the buffet where the food is, then this will make your wish for food come true. To do nothing is just giving up before you even start your journey.

Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it's realizing that there is something that you really want, then doing something to get it.

Be Blessed
