Chapped Lip Remedies

Chapped lips are often an embarrassing eye sore. No one wants to see a glimpse of their lips during the day that are cracked, sore, or peeling. Many women try to mask their chapped lips with lipstick. Putting lipsticks that do not contain a high level of moisturizer on the lips throughout the day does not help correct the problem. Creating kissable smooth lips can be done by simply adding a few steps to a current beauty routine. Softening the lips can be done by pampering the lips with these treatments listed below.

Lip Exfoliator

Exfoliating treatments can be done at home for pennies on the dollar. A luxurious scrub can be made by mixing equal parts sugar and olive oil. Use a soft bristled tooth brush, wash cloth, or the fingers to work the mixture into the lips. Rinse and add a light layer of honey to the lips. Natural raw honey that is unpasteurized works the best. This treatment is best done at night, so that in the morning the lips are smooth when the day begins.

Best Lipstick

Smooth hydrated lips will respond better to lipstick. Prepare clean lips by applying a lip stick base. This will help to keep the lipstick for most of the day. The best lipstick shades can be hard to find depending on the color of the lips and skin tone. Cheaper lip sticks are a great way to get close to a shade that looks good. Use this color as a guide to take to a department store or make up specialty store like Ulta. The color can also be used on a sheet of white paper when shopping on-line. The swatch that was created may make it easier to find a match on-line, Honey Bee Gardens and Sum Body are companies that sells all natural lip products. Their lipstick formulas only contain natural plant based ingredients and do not contain lead.

Lip Gloss

Lip gloss is the perfect way to perk up any shade of lipstick,or to enhance bare lips. Older lipsticks that may be collecting dust should be taken out and tried on. Matte lipstick and last seasons colors will look completely different when worn with lip gloss.

Take a few minutes each night to exfoliate and moisturize the lips. Start transitioning to natural lip products. Regular use of better products will help to improve the moisture level that is maintained within the lips. Use these lip treatments to help heal chapped lips.
