3 Ways to Add Hearts to Food on Valentine's Day: No Recipes Needed

Ann Siper
You can add hearts to food all day long on Valentine's Day to really celebrate the holiday, remind someone you love them, and just have some foodies fun! All of these ideas fro adding hearts to food are very easy, edible, and look great!

Heart Foods for Valentine's Day #1: Glittery Hearts

One of my favorite easy touches is adding glittery hearts to already prepared food. I will give you some ideas for adding hearts with glitter to a variety of foods.

You will need a clean heart stencil to add a clean lined heart to your food using glitter. You can hold the stencil over food like cupcakes and gently start sprinkling the glitter on in the heart opening.

When you move the stencil away, hold it level, and then pour the excess glitter back into the bottle to use again.

Another fun look for a savory version of this is to use dried parsley, the heart stencil, and some mashed potatoes!

Heart Foods for Valentine's Day #2: Chocolate Hearts

You can add pre made store bought chocolate hearts to so many foods. I love chocolate, so these romantic chocolate hearts added to food always taste great!

Take some pre made chocolate hearts and try placing them in the middle of foods you are cooking. For instance, try pancakes. You want to pour the batter as usual, and then plate the heart right in the middle. Cook and flip.

The chocolate heart wall melt into the pancakes a little, but retain its general shape. You can also use chocolate hearts in the middle of cupcakes as well.

Try using white chocolate hearts in the middle of brownies.

Heart Foods for Valentine's Day #3: Cut out Hearts

Ok, this is a fun way to transform the whole shape and look of your food! It is definitely my favorite.

For fun twist on eggs in basket, try punching out the hole in yoru bread with a heart cookie cutter! This is acute and you can still have your healthy breakfast.

Another fun look is to bake some chocolate brownies and some blondes. Cut out the chocolate brownies in squares there slightly larger than the heart cookie cutters. Bow, cut out heart blondes.

Place the blondie heart in the chocolate brownie and press together!

Finally, you can also use the heart cookie cutter, metal please, to make heart shaped pancakes. Place the cookie cutter on the griddle. Pour the batter in the heart and cook as usual.
