Using a garden fence to decorate a small kid's bedroom is perfect for a nursery, a toddler's bedroom, or a garden themed bedroom. You can use real wood fencing from the local home improvement store or paint your own garden fence to make these fun ideas for decorating a child's bedroom.

Garden Fence Décor Idea #1: Coat Rack

Take your piece of garden fence or white picket fence. Hang it on the wall starting right at the ground. Use an open space on the wall. Drill with screws into the studs of the wall.

Now, on the front slats of the white picket fence you want to install coat hooks on the front. You may find that pre drilling holes through the white picket fence and out the back work bests. Place the coat hook into place, slip in a bolt, and then screw on a nut on the back. This will look great and keep your child organized.

Garden Fence Décor Idea #2: Window Coverings

To create funky privacy in a child's bedroom you can use a piece of once to create a fun window treatment. Measure how wide your window is. Cut your piece of fence to this width.

Now, cut it half. Screw each side into the left and right sides of the window using hinges. You can buy a variety of different hinges at the local home improvement store.

Paint out the fence in white or another color that matches your child's bedroom. For more privacy you can install hand made rice paper on the back side. Cut to the same sizes at the fence and staple gun into place as privacy panels in the back.

Garden Fence Décor Idea #3: Headboard

Pieces of garden fence make an awesome and inexpensive headboard for a child's bedroom. Simply take yoru piece of fence and white wash it or paint it in any color you want.

Once the repaint dries you can screw it straight into the wall above the child's bed. You want to drill into studs or use toggle bolts OT make sure this does not fall. If you have dry wall , then use the toggle bolts, they work best.

Now, for a more girly touch to this look try using silk flowers or paper flowers and weaving them in between the slats on the wood fence piece! You really get a garden feel this way!
