Here are 3 ways to decorate a retro bedroom with vintage lamps:
Retro Lamp Bedroom Décor #1: Side Table
If you check out your local Goodwill then you are sure to find some of those great super tall retro lamps from the 1970's. Don't be put off by odd colors and torn lampshades.
Go ahead and remove the lampshades and either toss or recycle into another project. Now, for the lamp bass, you want to paint out 4 of them in the same color. I like to use spray on primer, then spray paint.
Try to choose lamps that are all the same height. Now, attach a board on top as a table top. You can pre drill holes in the board and simply slip onto the screw for the lamp finial on top!
Retro Lamp Bedroom Décor #2: Vase
One of my favorites looks it to take the vintage lamp apart. You can remove all the hardware, wire, and other details. Once it is just the base then use epoxy glue to seal any holes to make the vase base water tight.
Once the epoxy glue dries you can paint this out in any color you wish or leave as is. Add flowers and you have a funky one of a kind lamp to decorate your home with! Create three of these and display in a group for huge impact!
These also make fun retro gifts for anyone in need of fees flowers and bright colors.
Retro Lamp Bedroom Décor #3: Headboard
So, for this look you will need to install a simple floating shelf right above your bed. Work about 2 feet above the bed so you do not bang your head on the shelf. Go ahead and remove all the lampshades as well.
Finally, remove all hardware again. You can paint all the lamp bases out in an antique white color and lien them up on the shelf. Push them flush side by side so they create one cohesive look.
You can also paint the wall in a rectangle right behind the shelf in a bright color to make the row of shapes pop! If these are clear glass bases, then try dropping tea candles in them and light them up to create mood lighting.
