Here are three ways to decorate a hip retro bathroom with vintage signs:
Vintage Sign Décor #1: Create a Mirror
Use your vintage sign to create a fun mirror to hang over the bathroom sink. Step back and take a look at your vintage sign. Is there an open area that would be perfect for gluing on a sheet of mirror. Look for large open areas where there are blocks of color.
Tip: If you do not want to cover the mirror in any spot, then attach it to a large sheet of plywood. On the other half glue on your mirror. Hang over the sink and enjoy! Be sure to paint out trim and edges with milk paint to match the look and pull it together.
Vintage Sign Décor #2: Cabinet Doors
Vintage signs make awesome cabinet doors in a small bathroom or even large bathroom! If your vintage sign or reproduction retro sign is made of wood, then simply unscrew your existing wood doors. Pre drill holes into the sign that match up with your existing hardware. Now screw into place.
You can also take smaller signs and screw them into the front of existing bathroom doors to create a fun look as well. This is easy to do, but be sure to pre drill the holes.
Vintage Sign Décor #3: Storage boxes
Small signs can also be turned into fun storage boxes. You can buy simple re made wood crates at the craft store. Pre drill holes through the sign and into the wood crate fronts.
Screw the wood vintage signs into the wood of the crate. These can be stacked on the floor, placed on shelves, or lined up under the sink counter for more shabby chic storage.
You can also build custom shabby chic storage boxes out of the retro signs. Simply measure how tall and wide the sign is. Cut out 2 pieces to his same size from a sheet of plywood. These will be the front, bottom, and back of the ox.
Measure how large the side pieces need to be. Pre drill holes and screw the storage box together! Easy and fun storage.
