3 Ways to Remove Face Paint

Face paint can add a wonderful realistic touch to any Halloween or holiday costume, characters in a school play, or support of your favorite team. The more face paint you apply on your skin, or if the paint has been on for several hours, you might have a difficult time to remove it entirely. Sometimes face paint will not come off with regular soap and water, or you notice your skin has taken on the hue of the colors that were there! For instance, if you had green paint over your entire face because you were a Halloween witch, now you have a greenish cast to your skin! But, don't panic, because the following face paint removal tips should get the paint off your skin quickly and easily.

3 Ways To Remove Face Paint

Basically, the best ways to remove face paint are by using cold cream, baby wipes, or baby oil.

Using Cold Cream to Remove Face Paint

You will need: cold cream, cotton balls, washcloth, water and a soft, dry towel.

1. Most any cold cream is suitable, and can be found in any drug store or where facial products are sold.

2. Dip a cotton ball into the cold cream.

3. Apply the cold cream to your face, or wherever there is face paint, and rub gently in circular motions. Only a thin layer of cold cream is necessary, but be sure to cover the area that has been painted completely.

4. Let the cold cream sit on your skin for about 5 minutes.

5. Wet the washcloth with clean water and wring out the excess water.

6. Use the washcloth to wipe your face and rinse your face with lukewarm water. Rinsing will finish removing the face paint. Dab your face dry with a clean soft towel.

Using Baby Wipes to Remove Face Paint

You will need: baby wipes, water, and a soft, dry towel.

1. Fold several baby wipes in half to prevent them from ripping or tearing.

2. Gently wipe your face with the baby wipes. Depending on how much face paint is on your skin, you may need to use several baby wipes to get all the paint off.

3. Rinse your face (or wherever the paint has been applied) with lukewarm water. Rince the skin with lukewarm water and blot dry with a soft towel.

Using Baby Oil to Remove Face Paint

  1. Most any baby oil is suitable for use and can be found at any drug store or wherever facial products are sold.

  2. Pour about 1 cup of baby oil into a glass bowl (a throwaway bowl can also be used).

  3. Dip a cotton ball in the baby oil.

  1. Wipe the face paint from the skin using the oil soaked cotton ball. Most likely you will need a few cotton balls to remove all the face paint (depending on how much paint is on the skin).

  2. Rinse the skin with warm water and remove any oil remaining on your skin with a wet washcloth. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.
