There is no doubt about at least once your in life you've had to deal with stress in your workplace. You may think a slight headache here and some tension there is not a big deal. The truth is stress is more harmful then you may know. Short term stress can cause headache, tension, rapid heartbeat and nausea. Chronic Stress has been linked to high blood pressure, abnormal heartbeats, coronary heart disease and even heart attack. This is the reason that you may want to lessen the amount of stress that you have in your life.

Let's face it you can not control every aspect of life. Sometimes things will be thrown at you and you simply have no control over the outcome. On the other hand you can help to control the amount of stress you endure at work. I'm offering 3 simple tips that should help you on your journey to a stress free work day.

First and most important, while at work leave your personal stresses at home. Many of times when we're stressing at work its usually over something that happened outside of the job. If you learn to separate home from the workplace you will have better days at work. This will allow you to deal with one situation at a time. Go to work with one thing on your mind and that is to get your job done properly. Don't think or speak about what's going wrong in your personal life. Keep your focus on your work and completing the job. In most cases this will cut your stress at work in half.

Second, you want to use better time management. Managing your time is very important when it comes to having a smooth day at work. There's nothing more frustrating then running out of time before completing your work. Either you have to stay late or add it to your next days work. Very stressful huh? Try making a schedule of your day's events. This will help you to stay on track on the job and complete every assignment given to you. Make the most of your free time at work. Instead of surfing the net during down time get a head start on the next days work. Better time management allows you to relax a little and takes the rush out of your work day.

And last, regulate criticism and ignore people's negative words. Criticism and negativity is all around. It's something that you can not run away from or get rid of. When at work sometimes it may seem that everything you do is being looked at under a microscope. And then at the drop of a dime there it is hurtful words and criticism. The good thing is you can analyze negativity and turn it compliments. As long you recognize your mistakes you can basically can the rest of the negative words. Learn to breathe through uncomfortable situations until it's over. Do not allow others to ruin your mood or bring on stress. Think about the good things you do around your job to neutralize your feelings. Getting pass criticism and negativity will definitely take major stress out of your work day.

It is true you can not run away from all that stresses you. You can try to do your best to neutralize stress before it gets out of hand and becomes a health issue. Stress at work is unfair and unnecessary. Try these tips to help you get through your work day with a little less stress then the day before. The less you stress at work the better you'll feel at home.
