3 Years Too Late
Three years to the day too late
and I know there was nothing I could have done
that would make the world spin a different way
but if there was, I would, and still would, if not too late.

All through this month I think of you
and usually by this day I'm through
all the thoughts in my head so exhausted, and I'm ready
to let it go for another year.
This year it's not the same
and I haven't figured the difference but still I think

I know the feeling--we gave up friends over a really stupid disagreement. A year or so later I made the call to apologize for our part, and fortunately they accepted. It was so good to have them back, but we missed so much in the meantime.
