Three years to the day too late
and I know there was nothing I could have done
that would make the world spin a different way
but if there was, I would, and still would, if not too late.
and I know there was nothing I could have done
that would make the world spin a different way
but if there was, I would, and still would, if not too late.
All through this month I think of you
and usually by this day I'm through
all the thoughts in my head so exhausted, and I'm ready
to let it go for another year.
This year it's not the same
and I haven't figured the difference but still I think
Where have you gone and taken all my advice?
What would you think of what I've made of my life?

Post a CommentVery emotional! It made me think of a lost love, that unfortunately, I can't stop loving!
Just discovered this one, thanks for sharing it.
What a beautiful poem. It's so sad when people we care about are no longer around. :-)
Your line "that would make the world spin a different way" is right on. Fantastic! Wish I could give you more than just five stars.
Very beautiful and touching
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)
Thank you, all. I really appreciate your encouragement.
I know the feeling--we gave up friends over a really stupid disagreement. A year or so later I made the call to apologize for our part, and fortunately they accepted. It was so good to have them back, but we missed so much in the meantime.
This is beautiful and touching. The emotions flow so freely. Excellent work. :-)
Beautiful poem. Very touching.
