Spooky, Funny, Scary, Fantastical - Simply Halloween!

Halloween is the spooky fantastical Holiday of the year when young and old alike get to dress up, enjoy them-selves and simply have fun. As you have guessed this is hands down my favorite time of the year. From watching the decorations slowly emerging in the local stores, watching some of my old time and new favorite Halloween Movies to the day of Halloween and all its festiveness. When it comes to Halloween, I can't wait. For all you fellow Halloween lovers, here are 30 Halloween related "things" to help get you into the spirit.
  1. Tales from the Darkside Marathon on Sci-fi Channel.

    This may not be strictly Halloween for some of you, but when it comes to spooky, out there Movies this one and the Twilight Zone have many of the newer Series beat.

    Halloween crafting was right up there for me when my kids were still little. Now they are all too old, but I still love to look at the wonderful crafting Ideas you can find in Magazines and online.   18. Create a Host a Disney Halloween Movie Dress up Sleep over circle!

    This is for the Mommies who still have younger kids and need some time to get the Holidays organized. Get together with 7 Mommies (those you trust only of course) in your Area who all have kids about the same ages as yours. Each Mommy will host 1 night of Disney Halloween Movie Dress up Sleep over! Pick one Halloween Themed Disney Movie, order some Pizza or make hot dogs and fries, pop some pop corn and have a sleep over. Let the other Mommies know which Movie you are going to show that Night and have them dress their kid(s) up in a self made costume that fits that Movie. No bought costumes allowed! This will keep it cheap and will give each of you 6 nights without the kids!


  19. Rent or buy some fun Halloween Books and read them with your kids!

    When my kids were younger I would create an indoors Campground in the middle of my Living-room. We would put an electrical or real Jack O'Lantern in the middle of our circle. Put blankets and pillows all around and had flashlights. No electric light allowed. Then we would take turns reading or telling spooky or fun Halloween Stories to each other. Dinner that night was Hot Dogs and Smores of course.


  20. Be kind to black Cats.

    Regardless of the superstition saying that a black cat crossing your path is bad luck there are many more superstitions that show black Cats as bringers of luck.   21. Don't take the Holiday away from your Children!

    More and more Stores are being forced to become politically correct and start calling Halloween - Autumn Celebrations.     I love to watch the kids in their Costumes Trick or Treating on Halloween Night. It makes you feel so very young at heart again. I especially enjoy the ones that still have their Parents dressed up with them. A nice family affair.

  • The spooky holiday of Halloween is taken from the original Pagan high Holiday of Samhain.
The Devils Masks and other scary Masks were not worn to bring forth the dark denizens of the other Realm, but to scare away the Monsters, Demons and other "evil" creatures who would attack the world, during the night of the thin Veils.
