30 Seconds to Mars - You Need to Know This Band!!

If you haven't heard of 30 Seconds to Mars...I think you will be hearing about them very soon. This is a great newer alternative band composed of one fine actor, Jared Leto, on lead vocals and three other band mates whose names are not important at this time. They are currently signed with a major label, Virgin records and released their debut song "The Kill" in Austrailia as a single. The video for "The Kill" has appeared on MTV along with their new single, "From Yesterday". They are out of Los Angeles California and have a clear cut sound, strong vocals, and an even stronger message to send. I would compare the band to the likes of My Chemical Romanc, only with a deeper range of vocals and emotion portrayed in their songs. The songs are addictive, edgy, and a little twisted. Jared Leto has come a long way from his days on the telvision show, My So Called Life. Although he is a great actor, Jared has finally shown his true talent and that he truly belongs in this band. His clear vocals and amazing voice are unforgettable.

If you haven't yet heard of 30 Seconds to Mars, be sure to check out the video "The Kill". The video was partially modeled after the movie "The Shining" by Stephen King and is a creative twist on the demons hidden within onself and what we come up against when we as individuals have to confront them. The lyrics are catchy, raw, and explosive. "The Kill" is one song that you will listen to and instantly get addicted to. I have listened to this songs up to five or more times in a row. The chorus sticks in your brain, grabs on tight and doesn't let go. The album also includes songs, such as "The Attack", " A Beautiful Lie", and "From Yesterday".

There are so many bands out on the radio waves that aren't worth the air time that they occupy. 30 Seconds to Mars is so far underrated and has little playtime on major radio stations throughout the country. It is sad because 30 Seconds to Mars is a band that is finally refreshing compared to the repetitive sound that you hear on every alternative station in the United States. Their lyrics are deeply tied to emotion, angst, betrayal and love and are beautifully poetic. Not to mention that the lead singer is wonderfully talented and amazing.
