300: Frank Miller Returns to the Big Screen

Acclaimed comic book writer and graphic novelist Frank Miller is bringing another one of his creations to the big screen. In 2005 audiences were entranced by the stunning visuals of the big screen adaptation of the Dark Horse comic Sin City that was in turn stylish, sleek, and disturbing. Bringing the tale of the morally depressed city to life was only Frank Miller's first step in entrancing the world with his unique manner and ideas.

300, based on the Frank Miller's graphic novel relating the tale of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae fought in 480 B.C. is scheduled to hit theaters in March of 2007. The battle has become one of the most famous stands in history, during which the King of Sparta led 300 Spartans against the numerically superior Persian Army.

Often the battle is used during military training as an example of the impact quality military training can have in the face of overpowering odds. According to myth the battle itself eventually led to the beginning of democracy.

The movie stars Gerard Butler ("Phantom of the Opera"), Tom Wisdom ("Hey Mr DJ"), Lena Headey ("The Brothers Grimm"), David Wenham ("Van Helsing"), Dominic West ("The Forgotten"), Vincent Regan ("Troy)", and Michael Fassbender ("Poirot") all star along side Gerard Butler and work together to bring Frank Miller's vision to life.
