3.3.11 Impact Rating

Spy Radio
TNA's March 3rd episode of Impact pulled a 1.36 rating. This is the highest rating the show has ever pulled on a Thursday night. It feel short to the show's first ever Monday rating which pulled a 1.41. The increase in ratings got me thinking of a few possible reasons why the show did so well.

The show could have done so well because Hulk Hogan and Sting made their returns to TNA. Now that may have contributed to the shows success but I think it had more to do with the promotion of the show. TNA was advertising 3.3.11 as it would advertise a Pay-Per-View (PPV). They were promoting the face off between Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter, the Jarrett's renewing their wedding vows, the 3.3.11 video for the returning superstar, and the appearance of Angelina from the Jersey Shore and Bart Scott from the New York Jets. Besides all that they were promoting the matches that featured Matt Morgan, Hernandez, Beer Money, Gunner, Murphy, Velvet Sky, and Sarita.

The ratings doing so well could be for the reasons stated above or for a completely different reason. The coming weeks will show us if TNA can sustain this rating or if 3.3.11 was just a flash in the pan.
