In the whole duration of my observation in Camarines Sur National High School, I was enlightened with the realities in public schools such as Cam High. On an honest to goodness note, the classrooms I observed in are technically not conducive for learning. But since it is understandable that a school like Cam High accommodates thousands of children, shortage of good classrooms is inevitable. Although the classroom of IV- de Leon is always clean (through the constant supervision of the adviser), the noise coming from neighboring establishments disturbs the class. As a result, one time, the teacher had to cut the discussion short because the noise does not enable them to hear each other. On the other hand, the class of II- Amorsolo is worse than IV- de Leon because there is very minimal ventilation inside. Furthermore, the location of the room is more noise-prone because it is beside the canteen.

As for teaching competency, I should say that both of my cooperating teachers are doing their job as educators. I found out from them, though, through my interview that they are not originally Education or English majors. There were topics that were not explained well to the students (or it could be because I was not present when they discussed the matter). There were just some topics they explained that are contrary to what I learned in my school. Perhaps I could have misheard them. I am well aware that there are a lot of factors why a teacher cannot "deliver the good" satisfactorily.

My cooperating teachers also utilize varied forms of teaching strategies and assessment as well. They did not dwell on just the traditional type of tests; rather, they used alternative methods of assessing student performance.

In terms of teacher-student relationship, I can say that my cooperating teachers are experts in this aspect. Both of them have a healthy rapport with their students. They make every discussion as fun and lively as possible. However, probably due to the number of students in each class, problems in classroom management had arisen during my observation. Many students are not paying attention by talking to their seatmates, doing assignments in other subjects, or texting and taking pictures using their cellular phones.

After all these observations, it prepared me to my future career. I know that there's a great possibility that I will experience the same situations, meet the same kind of students, and see the same reality. With that I could say that my experience in Cam High is indeed worthwhile.
