New York City might not be known for it's barbecue but that doesn't mean there aren't some great places to enjoy barbecue. These 4 restaurants have variety in atmosphere, food, and prices so you can find exactly what you want. The thing they all have in common is great barbecue food in New York City.
Dallas BBQ'S
Probably the most well known of barbecue places in New York City. Dallas BBQ's (also referred to as just BBQ's) has many locations scattered around New York City so no matter where you are you can get your barbecue on. They have amazing early bird specials that include soup, barbecue chicken, rice, and cornbread for 2 people for only 10$. The regular menu is just as well priced. All dishes come with your choice of rice, or potato and cornbread. Their ribs are great and the portions are huge. You can get burgers, ribs, chicken, or choose from combination platters. They also serve these amazing frozen drinks in colossal glasses.
RUB (Righteous Urban Barbecue)
Located in Chelsea in New York City RUB has some authentic southern barbecue. It does get crowded but it is worth it. The sandwiches are amazing and really great and pretty filling. They are more expensive than Dallas BBQ'S and sides have to be ordered separately. The sides are great especially the super fries which are seasoned in a way that make them addictive, and the onion strings. Don't fill up though you want to have room for dessert where they serve fried oreos.
Blue Smoke
Blue Smoke is one of the nicest barbecue places in New York City. They have live jazz on the weekends and great happy hours. It is an upper scale barbecue restaurant located in the east 20's in New York City. Their food is great. The ribs fall off the bone and the sides are some of the best I have ever had. I recommend the mac and cheese, and blue cheese and bacon dip. The rib sampler is also a great way to try all 3 different ribs they have. Blue Smoke will not disappoint you in food, or atmosphere.
Bone Lick Park
This great barbecue place is located in the West Village in New York City. Their lunch menu is a great deal with most meals under 9$ and including a soup or salad. Bone Lick Park keeps it simple with their menu serving basic barbecue food but it is delicious. The sides are authentic and different than the other places. I highly recommend the brown sugared yams, and the cornbread. The entrees come with a side and cornbread and the meat combo is a great way to taste different things. The food is large in portions and great in taste everything you want in your barbecue.
