Marnie
There are a lot of options for Italian food in New York City. Some people swear by Little Italy but it is usually overcrowded, and overpriced. These 4 Italian food places are not expensive, have amazing food, and even though some get crowded they have multiple locations. Some are great for a crowd because they serve Italian food family style, and some are perfect for a night out for 2.

Tony's DiNapoli
This family style Italian restaurant serves up some of the best Italian food in New York City. There are 2 locations and reservations are needed for both. 1 is in Times Square and the other on the Upper East Side. All their dishes serve 2-3 people including their desserts. It is a great place to go with a lot of people because everyone can try lots of different dishes. The Shrimp Parmigiana and Rigatoni Ala Vodka are 2 of the best dishes they have. They also serve an amazing Caesar Salad which is prepared table side. There are tons of specials and the prices are very reasonable for great Italian food.

Carmines

This is a famous Italian food place that a lot of people visit while in New York City. They also have 2 locations 1 in Times Square and 1 on the Upper West Side. The UWS is less crowded but definitely make reservations for either or you can have up to a 2 hour wait. The wait is well worth it once you get to eat. Their sauce is divine and their portions like Tony's are also family style serving 2-3 people. The Chicken Parmigiana and Fried Calamari are amazing as well as their desserts.

Bella Cucina

Bella Cucina is an Italian food gem on the Upper East Side of New York City. All the food is served with amazing garlic bread. They have some amazing specials that change daily and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are large and very fresh. The menu has pastas, individual pizzas, and panini style sandwiches. The Ravioli Verde in a pink cream sauce is amazing. The dessert selection is also vast and priced well.

Espresso's Cafe

This is a great place to eat Italian on the Upper East Side. Located in the east 60's it is never too busy or crowded which is nice. It used to be called Angels and they kept the same menu. That is a great thing because the food is amazing, portions huge, and the bread they serve with the meal is delicious. They serve 3 different kinds of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar that are warm and tasty. The menu is quite extensive. Personally, I love their baked ziti and quattro formaggio which is a 4 cheese pasta. They also have a lot of cakes and cookies to choose from all at reasonable prices.

These 4 great Italian food restaurants will satisfy your cravings. Whether you are looking for a family style night out, or a romantic evening for 2 these 4 options have what you want. They all have amazing food, service, bread, and prices. Wherever you may be in New York City you can enjoy an amazing Italian meal.
