Christmas Craft Idea #1: Snowman
When I think of Christmas, I think of snowmen. You can buy Styrofoam balls at a craft store, along with felt, pins, and sequins. If kids do this craft, make sure they are careful not to hurt themselves with the pins. You can pin together two or three Styrofoam balls, depending on how big you want your snowman to be, to make the body of the snowman. Cut out a hat and scarf from the felt and pin it to the snowman. Then, use sequins to decorate the body. You can use colored sequins for the eyes, nose, and mouth, and if you want, you can cover the entire body in white sequins. This makes for a very pretty and almost sparkly snowman.
You can also make edible snowmen out of marshmallows. Use mini M&Ms or other mini candies to decorate, and then you can eat your creation after you are done!
Christmas Craft Idea #2: Christmas Cards
Let your kids make their own Christmas cards. All you need is some construction paper and markers. If you want to get fancy, you can cut out shapes from construction paper, fold them in half, and glue them to the card to create a pop-up Christmas card. You attach your Christmas cards to the Christmas gifts you give to people.
Christmas Craft Idea #3: Ornaments
Buy plain ornaments made of glass, wood, or plastic at a craft store. Also pick out beads, glitter, sequins, or lace to decorate your ornament. You can also use puffy paint. The easiest way to decorate your ornament is to use a hot glue gun. If you are working with kids, be careful to watch them and make sure they do not get hurt.
