4 Fun Summer Activities for Youth Kids

Papillion, Nebraska is a great place to be in the summer. The weather is beautiful, the parks are well kept, and there is always something to do. Youth kids will be offered 4 classes which will be enjoyed by all.

1. "Youth Tech INC. Computer Class" teaches kids about computers. They'll learn to be creative, enjoy a great learning environment, and have a lot of fun. They will participate in hands-on courses like "Movie Makers" and will learn about digital video design, how to direct video projects, and make their own music videos. The cost for this class is $150.00 and will take place at the Papillion La Vista South High School from July 12^th through the 15^th; beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 12:00 pm. In addition they will also learn about "Video Game Design." This session is also from July 12^th through the 15^th with a run time of 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The cost is $180.00 and also held at the Papillion La Vista South High School. This class will show them how to make video games that they can share with their friends. Ages 10-17 are invited to take part in this class.

2. For ages 11 years and up they can take part in a "Babysitting 101" class; which is $20.00. The course has 4 sessions; May 1^st, June 5^th, July 10^th, and August 7^th. These will be held at the Recreation Activity Center from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. This class will teach the youth about safe child care; they'll be given snacks, drinks, and a certificate and booklet to take home.

3. For those that like to dance the Recreation Activity Center will be giving a "Beginning Dance Class." The first session is June 4^th -July 16^th, second session is July 23^rd-August 27^th, and the final session is September 10^th- October 15^th. There are 3 age groups and the classes are geared towards each of them. "Creative Movement" is for ages 3-5 starting at 4:15 pm and ending at 4:55 pm; cost is $45.00. "Beyond Creative Movement" is for ages 5-7 starting at 5:00 pm until 5:40 pm with a fee of $45.00. "Grade 1 Ballet" welcomes ages 7 and up to attend from 5:45 pm until 6:45 pm with a fee of $52.00.

4. For the sports fan "Youth Flag Football" will begin August 21^st through October 16^th. All games will begin at 9:00 am and played at the La Vista Sports Complex. Flag football will be open to both boys and girls ages 6-12. The fee is $50.00 per child and the deadline to register is Friday, July 23^rd.
