The Gaslamp District has great shopping. From apparel and accessories to art and cigars, and even old and fancy cars, you can find it all, and most within walking range of where you parked. Highlights include the Beverly Hills Motor Cars of San Diego with their unique and ever-changing inventory. Those interested in a bit of history can visit the Davis House for historic items representing San Diego history and architecture. Those with pets will appreciate Lucky Dog Pet Boutique with their great "I Love San Diego" tank.
Spend a Night
There are many different hotels that are all inside the Gaslamp Quarter. Hotels to stay around Fifth Avenue include the Gaslamp Town House, The William Penn Hotel, the Hotel Solamar, and the Horton Grand Hotel. For those just needing a single night boarding, there are many SRO's for boarding available. The Gaslamp also features non-profit hostels for younger and international travelers.
Prepare for a Fright
The Haunted House is a great holiday spot if you are in San Diego during Halloween. It is located in the Gaslamp District and is open during the week in the evenings. The haunted house is scary, so it's not recommended for younger kids under 10 (and no refunds if tickets are purchased and the person changes their mind to not go through). It is open from nightly, and the hours change depending on the day of the week. Friday & Saturday it's open from 6pm to 1am, and from Sunday through Thursday it's open from 7pm until 11pm. Currently admission is between 15 dollars to 17 dollars per person, but check with them for any changes or special passes.

Enjoy Nighttime Entertainment
There is an abundance of nighttime entertainment located in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. For American Cuisine, and a bit of music history, visit Croce's in San Diego. This restaurant has all things related to the late singer and songwriter Jim Croce, with his wife being the executive chef.

For those interested in a little nightclubbing, the Stingaree has entertainment and a hopping atmosphere. Stingaree has a restaurant with a full wine list, a night club for entertainment, and can do private functions as well.

I love San Diego! Awhile back my honey and I took the whole day and walked around the whole city, enjoying everything along the way. By sunset, we were in the gas light district and had a perfect ending to a perfect day...love it there!
