4 Hairspray Types that Combat Winter Weather
Fight Hair Dullness, Static, Frizz and Moisture Loss with Hairspray
Moisture Locking Hair Spray
A moisture locking hair spray is ideal for any hair type in the winter though it is particularly useful for women with color treated or chemically treated hair. When moisture locking hairspray is applied it helps seal your hair, "locking" in your natural moisture which helps your hair stay shiny and protected! For color treated hair, these means that your hair color could maintain its original hue for longer and remain sustainable for an even lengthier period of time.
Anti-Frizz Hair Spray
An anti-frizz hair spray helps keep hair prone to frizz tamed throughout the winter months. Since many women prone to frizz already have drier hair, the additional drying factor of heating systems in the winter can really make the use of product necessary when it may not be in the spring and summer. It is best to look for an anti-frizz spray with additional moisture-locking capabilities if you have had your hair permed or dyed.
Anti-Static Hair Spray
Static can help contribute to an overall frizzy look, but static and frizz are not the same thing. Many brands produce anti-static hairspray to help "neutralize" static. Many times I use an anti-static hairspray and still follow it up with additional holding sprays to create the exact look I want.
Shine Enhancing Hair Spray
Winter winds can dry out your skin and hair, and winter heating indoors does the same. When your scalp is dry, the roots of your hair as well as the length of it can become dull and flat. When this occurs, it is best to utilize a shine enhancing hairspray to give your hair a health looking luster. Don't be afraid to layer a shine enhancing spray with a spray that provides additional benefits.
Winter brings with it a variety of unique conditions that affect our hair in many different ways. As we move from one environment to another, such as from home to the office, the variables again increase. For these reasons, having a few different hairsprays on hand during the winter is a good idea, as is mixing and matching the various sprays given the hair care climate you are facing on any given day.
