1. White Chocolate Reese's
We all know and love Reese's peanut butter cups. Chocolate on the outside, peanut butter on the inside- masterpiece created by two guys bumping into each other while one carried a chocolate bar and one carried a jar of peanut butter. A jar of peanut butter? Really? Who does that? Well, anyway, not nearly as many people have gotten to experience the white chocolate version. Only released in limited quantities at specific times of the year, I look forward to their return with great anticipation. These days I enjoy them more than the original! I'd love it if my children could someday get the chance to have some. I hate to say that Reese's has been switching it up and releasing dark chocolate Reese's instead- a concoction I find very unappealing.
2. Giant Gummy Bears
There was a time when the giant gummy bear was easy to spot in the wild. They played and lounged freely in convenience stores and markets. Unfortunately, evolution was kinder to their tiny counterparts and gradually the giants began to die out. Around Christmas you can very rarely come across a Walmart or Target that sells pairs of giant gummy bears. Other than that, you'll have to order them from Things You Never Knew Existed or a holiday catalogue. These foot tall goodies would be great shared with my children someday...
3. Candy Orange Slices
What kid hasn't taken a candy orange slice and sealed up his or her mouth with it and smiled? The shape just begs you to do it! These sweet, chewy little treats are great on a lazy, Sunday evening when you've got nowhere to be and a nice glass of Kool-Aid beside you. I want my children to experience that. For some reason candy orange slices where always displayed next to the giant, sugar circus peanuts- I feel sorry for children that made the wrong choice.
4. White Chocolate M&Ms
Like their Reese's counterparts, you only see these released at very specific parts of the year. These delicious little candies embody the potato chip slogan- "I bet you can't have just one." These white chocolate pieces of heaven melt in your mouth with all the smoothness that you get with white chocolate. These deserved to be shared with future generations!
