If you suffer from occasional or recurring headaches and migraines then I am sure you have searched for and are desperate to find relief. Being a chronic headache sufferer myself, I know how painful it is and how it disturbs all areas of your life. I guess that is why there are hundreds, if not thousands, of pain relief pills, creams, rubs, patches, compresses, and more. But if you are like me you have tried nearly every product available, both prescribed and publicly available over the counter.

I am sure since you are reading this article that you have not found a remedy that is truly helpful, and that is as least poisoning to your body as possible. If one product works temporarily, then there is surely a side effect that you do not want. Natural is definitely the best way to go. But these remedies are not common knowledge, to say the least. So I set out on a mission to seek out natural remedies for migraines and recurring headaches. Some of what I found surprised me.

One of the first remedies that I came across that absolutely surprised me was the consumption of grapes. When eaten or drank, grapes can provide relief for both headaches and migraines. You can simply enjoy a cup or two of grapes, or even quicker you can throw them in the juicer and drink the juice. It has been said that the juice is actually the part of the grape that has the healing properties. This is much easier as when we are stricken with a headache or migraine, the last thing we want to do is to sit up and eat. Simply put, at the onset of the pain, juice a few cups of grapes, drink it as quickly as possible without upsetting your stomach, and lie down.

My second finding is also a fruit to be consumed...The apple. This was surprising as well. What I found concerning apples, is that it is used as a preventative remedy. Simply eat an apple each morning and this can prevent headaches or migraines throughout the entire day. Since I did not find anything about the particular part of the apple where the remedy lies, I suppose you can also juice them and drink them for quicker consumption.

The third remedy that I found to be very useful is water. This was not very surprising to me, and I am sure that you have heard this as well. Water is essential to keep your body functioning properly. Water can also reduce the amount of time that a headache or migraine will last. During a headache or migraine, I would not recommend drinking ice cold water, but rather luke warm. If water just does not tickle your fancy, you can add a teaspoon or so of honey to sweeten it a little. This is perfect since many sufferers have noticed quick relief after drinking water mixed with a little honey.

Sleep is also very helpful in combating migraines and headaches. If at all possible, lie down during the bout, and close your eyes. Light has been known to make headaches worse, so turn the light off if you can. A quick nap should do the trick, but if you have more time, try to sleep a few hours. Also be sure to get enough sleep at night, this helps wonders during the days.

So there you have it, four natural remedies for headaches and migraines. Head pain can be debilitating and can ruin your entire day and daily activities. But as bad as it is, be careful about what you are putting into your body to relieve these aches and pains. Natural is the safest way, and is often times less expensive.

If your doctor has not diagnosed your condition, it is imperative that seek medical assistance if you are experiencing recurring and painful headaches. Also be sure to check with your doctor or healthcare professional before you drastically change or add supplements to your diet.
