4 Not so Great Features of the Motorola XPRT Smartphone

The Worst Features of the Motorola XPRT Android Smartphone

Millionaire Hoy

The Motorola XPRT is one of the best business and personal cell phones on the market with great battery life, advanced hardware and other great features '" but it isn't perfect and these are the least favored features of the Motorola XPRT smartphone.

No Front Facing Camera

The Motorola XPRT has a great 5 megapixel rear-facing with dual LED flash, autofocus, digital zoom, and can record DVD quality videos at 30 frames per-second, but lacks a front facing camera. For personal smartphones, the lack of a front-facing camera might be a bummer that may or may not mean much to the average user, but a front facing camera is an essential feature that all business phones should have. Without a proper front facing camera, the Motorola XPRT won't be able to take advantage of video conferencing apps '" which could get in the way of doing business.

Screen Quality Could Be Better

A smartphone's touchscreen is the center of attention and is pretty much where all the "magic" happens '" and when this feature doesn't fit the bill, it can really limit the experience of a smartphone. The Motorola XPRTS features a 3.1 inch LCD display with a paltry 320x480 pixels resolution. The addition of the tactile keyboard of the Motorola XPRT came at the expense of a smaller than average touchscreen display and to make matters worse, the display quality of the Motorola XPRT isn't a vibrant as most modern smartphones '" especially those within the same price range.

Keyboard Is a Bit Cramped

It's almost as though Motorola should've gone the route of adding a Slider QWERTY keyboard to the Motorola XPRT instead of going with a tactile keyboard because not only has it limited the XPRT's display, but it's also a bit too cramped for constant (or business) use. Business phones rely more on physical keyboards than touchscreen keyboards and while a Slider keyboard might have added more weight to the Motorola XPRT, it would have made texting, typing, composing emails, and handling business a lot easier than the tactile keyboard that Motorola decided on.

Price

Price is always a smartphone feature to take not of and considering the Motorola XPRT's competitors and the average prices of smartphone's nowadays, the $449.99 asking price for this smartphone is just a bit too much. For the price of the Motorola XPRT, you'd be able to buy 3 Apple iPhone 4's, but this smartphone doesn't do three times the work of the iPhone 4.
