4 Reasons to Clean Your House

Rita Jan
It's that time of the day, when you are supposed to be doing your housework. You may be inherently lazy or just not see the point in it. This is the time when it helps to have logical, poignant reasons for cleaning the house. Nobody wants to sink all of that time, effort and energy into cleaning a home if there is nobody to see it (they seldom include themselves) and there is seemingly no point to it. Here is some internal motivation for you. Below are some good reasons to not only clean your home, but to become a clean freak.

Better spouse. Many people wish to feel that they have control over their own lives. Even though, in truth, this control is never truly gone, the 'feeling' of control can be lost. When your husband is useful and efficient, without being told, on home repair, garage maintenance and vehicle check-ups, it brings a sense of security and reliability to your thought process. When your wife, without having to ask, has the floor spotless, the dishes done and a warm meal on the table when you get home, it lends a sense of shared responsibility of tasks and being in control of your home and surroundings.

When you act upon these things yourself, you not only become a better spouse, but (if you keep your mouth shut) you inspire others around you to do the same amount of work and show equal dedication. Not only will you feel more in control of your own life and surroundings, but your spouse will feel the same and show you honor for your thriftiness.

Organized children. One of the main idealistic dreams of parents is to see their children succeed in life, which includes school, socialization, appearance, money and taking personal responsibility for their lives. Guess what? These are all affected by a clean home! They cannot do homework in a messy, loud and cluttered environment. They cannot properly or spontaneously invite friends over or do much with them after they arrive if they do not have appropriate surroundings. If their home is wrecked, they will not feel as much drive to keep in shape, dress nicely or behave well. Personal endeavors to make some extra cash or to right their wrongs are thwarted when their parents do not even find them worthy of keeping a clean home.

Your children are severely impacted by the state in which you keep your house. Not only will your job of parenting become easier by keeping your house clean, but they will feel a strong sense of peace and serenity when coming home.

Improve quality of living. Sometimes you would like to have more money to improve the appearance of your home, or to make you feel a little more like you are living the high life. You will not need the extra funds if you spruce up your home. Living in a clean, uncluttered, well-organized house can make you feel peaceful, rich, well-kept and as if you have plenty of resources. In fact, if your home is really that well kept up, you do have plenty of resources!

More efficient work. Just like with any other artistic endeavor, working in, near or out of your home is improved when you have a nice, clean workspace to return to. Sometimes, you work out of the home, but you feel stress thinking about returning to it. If you do any projects within your four walls, you might feel a strong sense of procrastination by all of the mess around you. Cleaning your home is one of the best ways to improve your work efficiency.

I know it is difficult to think about all of the strain it takes to clean your home. Dab some peppermint oil high on your forehead and on the back of your neck to cool your head, change into clean, comfortable cleaning clothes, and get started anyway!
