Four Reasons to Go to Church

DeeDee
It wasn't until about 10 years ago that I started going to church on a regular basis. Since I've been going, I've lived a more happy and positive life and feel much closer to God than ever. If you are skeptical about going to church becomes of negative church experiences in your past, don't completely disregard going ever again. Going to church can be a very positive, life-changing experience. Here are four reasons to go to church:

You'll develop a stronger relationship with God
Do you need to go to church to have a relationship with God? No, not really, but going to church will improve that relationship and strengthen it. The reason being? You'll read about God on a regular basis and get to know more about who you are building a relationship with. Not only that, but at church, time is specifically dedicated to praying and talking to God. In our daily lives it's easy to get busy and skip right over time with God. Going to church will ensure you make time for him.

You'll develop friendships with other Christians
Going to church every week will have you interacting with the same people week after week. Through activities, events, or just friendly conversation at church, you are bound to make friends with bible believing people and we truly need that in our lives. Keep yourself from those who will influence you to pick up bad habits that God wouldn't approve of.

It gives you a chance to serve others
There are many charity related projects that church's sponsor like food pantries, serving dinner's to needy communities, clothing drives and more. Going to church will make it easy for you to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others. And it doesn't just have to be a big event - you may just inspire those sitting next to you and somehow improve their lives in some way.

You'll learn many new things
Going to church is like going to a class on religion every week. The pastor preaches on the history of those in the bible and often incorporate stories from our lives, utilizing interesting examples that relate to biblical principles. That being said, you may end up getting a science lessons, a bible lesson, info on sports, crafts, other hobbies, and so much more, depending on what subjects your pastor/priest is educated on. I've learned tons of things I never knew. And of course, more importantly, you are learning more about God and his plan for our lives and this world.

If you've been going to church on a regular basis, I encourage you to keep going, and if you haven't been in years or maybe never, now is the time to go. Don't waste time! Get to a church this Sunday! It can only improve your life.
