Mamma Mia - Sam Carmichael - This is my number one choice of roles I'd like to see Taylor Hicks play on Broadway. I would love to see Taylor Hicks take on the role of Sam Carmichael. I think he could play the character amazingly well. Sam is an architect with a lot of charm. Something Taylor Hicks has a lot of. The character of Sam is a past love interest of Donna Sheridan and may be the Father of her daughter who is getting ready to be married. She invites her three possible father's to her wedding. Mamma Mia is all Abba Music which I am a big fan of. Not only would Taylor get to do a lot of acting for this role and basically be the leading man, he would also get to do a little dancing and of course what all Taylor Hicks fans want him to do, he gets to sing a little. I would love to hear Taylor's take on S.O.S.
All Shook up - Chad- Chad is a good looking, motorcycle riding, guitar playing, leather-jacketed roustabout. This is my second choice of roles I'd like to see Taylor Hicks play on Broadway. All Shook Up deals with a small town in the 1950s that recognizes the unjustness of segregation after a stranger motorcycles into town. It is set to Elvis Presley Music. I would love to see Taylor take on this role. Not only does he get to be in a leather jacket which would look great on him he gets to sing lots of Elvis Presley songs. Taylor sometimes favors Elvis and has his mannerisms and I am sure he would do great in this role.
Footloose - Reverend Moore- Footloose was adapted from the classic 1988 movie. Reverend Moore would be my third choice for roles I'd like to see Taylor Hicks play. Reverend Moore is the most powerful figure in Beaumont. He is a stern, very strict and solemn man with a booming voice who runs the town with an iron fist. However he also has a tender side and is struggling with the loss of his son. I think Taylor Hicks would be wonderful in this role. I think he has enough diversity to be able to play this role, we would get to see a whole other side to Taylor in this role and he gets to sing four songs in this role. The songs are "On Any Sunday", "Heaven Help Me", "I Confess" and "Can you Find It in Your Heart?"
Hair Spray - Corny Collins - This character is my fourth choice for roles I'd like to see Taylor Hicks play on Broadway. In this role Taylor Hicks would be playing a television host for a dance show. The opening song for the Corny Collins show is The Nicest Kids in Town song by the character Corny Collins and the kids in the show. The Corny Collins role also sings the song Hair Spray for a commercial. The Role of Corny Collins sees the main Character Tracy dance and he gets her on the show. This would be a great role for Taylor Hicks because he gets to have fun as the host and also sing a couple tunes. He could really Taylorize this role as he did with Grease and his role as Teen Angel.
