4 Sheets to the Wind

Robin McGrew

I remember writing this while I was just about 4 sheets to the wind
I remember it was when corporate America shot me in the foot again.
It is then that you wish you were 4 sheets in the wind

I remember that my job was full of promise and aspirations
In reality it was causing a full blown episode of indigestion and cramps
It is then that you wish you were 4 sheets in to the wind.

I remember being able to spend a little on spoils
In reality it was setting me up for disappointments and boils
It is then that you wish you were 4 sheets in to the wind.

I remember that my love life was full of joy and loving intimacy
In reality it was not near as promising away from those rose colored glasses
It is then that you wish you were 4 sheets to the wind.

I remember the best thing in my life is my son boy
In reality he is the very best; such a joy, he would make me laugh
It is then you don't wish you were 4 sheets in the wind

Now that we are older and the guise of parent hood has drifted away
In reality we have become great friends
With the promise of new life on the rise….
It is then that we both enjoy being 4 sheets in the wind … just every now and then again.
