4 Stupid Features that Can Ruin Otherwise Awesome Games
Trivial Gaming Non-Factors that Can Ruin Otherwise Perfect Games
Loading Times
There is absolutely nothing more annoying than booting up an awesome game and having to wait minutes while some dinky icon, symbol, or character dances around a loading sign. Game loading is an important part of video games, but game developers can perform certain tweaks to prevent gamers from waiting extremely long waiting times, reloading a part of a map that they are revisiting, and developers can also cut the amount of loading times that occur in-game.
Cut Scenes
Video game cut scenes can make games more awesome by adding better computer graphics, add to the story of games, and give us more info on our favorite video game characters, but if you've already beaten the game, have a limited amount of time to play, or just don't feel like sitting through a cut scene, unwelcomed cut scenes that can't be skipped and hold gamers hostage can be extremely annoying - and has ruined far too many otherwise legendary games.
Credits
Game developers do a great job and their job should go noticed and be appreciated, but some game developers take gloating too far and add unskippable rolling credits to the end of video games. No one ever reads the rolling credits of video games and the only purpose mandatory end-game credits serve - other than pissing off gaming fans - is making gamers restart their systems in order to play the game again. Note: all software and game developers that force gamers to wait until the end of mandatory credits to get credit for winning the game will burn in hell after they die.
Text Boxes
I know, I know, voice acting can put a damper on a video game's budget and text boxes are pretty much the only option left, but in order to implement an in-game textbox system that won't royally piss gaming fans off, textboxes must be skippable, have an option for speedy text, and have a font that won't make my skin crawl with fury.

Post a Commentunskippable credits are ridiculous in that I neither know nor care about who did the work. If I see their names I guarentee I won't remember or care to remember their names 10 seconds later. They got the best they were going to get from me when they got my $60. I'm not a game publisher and I'm not looking to hire a programmer to weed my garden or clean my toilet. For those who say they deserve recognition....they get it from their employers in the form of the money I paid for the game. For all I can guess, the publishers may just be doing this to put off bonuses. "Here's a little non-monetary recognition for all your hard work...don't spend it all at once."
What you said about credits was hilarious! I actually do sit and watch the whole credits though, but I'm just weird that way. It's been a tradition since my NES days. After working so hard to finish the game, I sit through the credits in an appreciative, Zen-state. And actually read some of them too.
I like the idea of the burning in hell after the credits. That is ridiculous!
