Use ONLY Writing Clips In Employment Section
Every resume has an employment section. You only need to include writing clips in the employment history. Do not include the job that you had in high school unless it was related to writing. They only want to see your writing experience in the writing industry. Do not include anything that is not related to writing. Make sure to include content sites and offline writing clips as well. Mention In Detail Years Of Experience
You may want to include how long that you have a freelance writer in the industry. Make sure to include all writing gigs that you have done such as ghostwriting for several clients. Mention certain company names that people in the industry know only hires the best writers.
Mention Awards To Benefit You
You can brag about yourself in this section of the resume. Make sure to brag about any awards that you have won in the writing industry for talented writing. You want to make sure that they know that people value your work. Top Content Producer with a cash prize is something to brag about since it shows that you are quite motivated writing articles on a regular basis. Brag about how many readers that you have each month as well since in a way readership is an accomplishment. Mention recent promotions or feature positions that happened over the years.
Use Education To Benefit You
English degree is really useful in the writing industry. English degree will help get your foot in the door. Some companies will only accept applicants with a English degree and not experience. Mention any classes that you may have taken that shows you are an expert in the field. You might want to mention anything that really makes you shine above the other competitors for a writing gigs.
