Floating tea lights in a large bowl of water is a unique way to set a moving centerpiece. As the water is moved by guests cutting meat or even bumping the table will cause the flickering light from the candles to jump around the center of the table. You may consider dying the water with food coloring to either make the water very blue or coordinate with your wedding colors. Tea lights wrapped in color coordinated ribbon offer beautiful keepsakes for your guests. Remember to print tags letting your guests now that you thank them for attending.
Large candles sprinkled with flower pettles that match your wedding bouquet are a great way to incorporate your wedding colors into the reception hall. This is a great way to incorporate flowers into your reception without spending tons of money on individual arrangements. Offering small votive candles in your wedding colors make great wedding favors for your friends and family. Including a small photograph with the candle and packaged up with small candies makes your favors functional.
Pillar candles wrapped in ribbon can offer aromatherapy and beauty at the same time. There are many different types of ribbon from the shiny satin to the matte grosgrain ribbons. Many ribbons can be easily curled as a way to add depth to the centerpiece. Surround the base of the candle with decorator marbles.
Votive candles in glass holders can be arranged in different shapes with the heart being the most popular for wedding receptions. Alternate candle colors to coordinate with your wedding party. Fill the inside of the heart shape with flower petals and decorator marbles. This is a cheap way of providing beautiful centerpieces and cheap favors at the same time.
Select candles that either have a scent that you love or unscented ones. You do not want to smell something that irritates you during your reception. Scent free works well if there is a risk of allergies among your guests. Also remember to keep the candles far enough away from table edges to reduce the risk of them being knocked over and starting a fire. Candles can be custom made with your wedding colors and your favorite scents. If you have your candles made you may look into having you and your new spouse's initials monogrammed directly onto the candles. This is a unique and beautiful way to display a symbol of your new life together.
Candles provide a green option since candles can be reused by guests in their homes. Many guests will enjoy candles much more than a trinket. Using candles as wedding favors also offers a different way to display place holders also. Remember to designate a helper to light all the candles before the reception begins. Offer your helper a large centerpiece to take home with them as a thank you for their help.
