4 Ways for Freelance Writers to Stay Motivated

Michelle Knudson
You have to stay motivated to write each day. You must write each day in order to be successful. There is a difference between a newbie writer and a professional freelance writer. The newbie writer is one that doesn't usually take freelance writing seriously. Professional freelance writers write for a living. Here are four ways for freelance writers to stay motivated.

Advertise Daily

Make sure to advertise yourself each day. No matter what you are doing that day hand out a business card to someone. Tell someone about your services and website address. Make a few phone calls to previous clients to tell them about your discount deal that ends in a week.

Charge High Prices

You will be motivated to work better when you earn more money. You are worth high prices when the content you publish is good. You can definitely get the price rate that you demand to get paid when you are an expert in the area. You have already established yourself in that field. You know what you are doing so therefore you should get paid for your knowledge. You will find that you do better work on projects when you charge a high rate. Low rate prices makes people produce low quality published work.

Write Each Business Hour

You need to have business hours. You need to write articles during these business hours. You need to stick to a set schedule in order to make a profit each day. The more articles that you write each day then the more money that you profit in your pocket. Think of each day that you do nothing that you lose money. Each day is a chance for you to earn more money. You don't have time to be lazy.

New Ideas

Gather new ideas from Magazines, Newspapers, and Internet. The new ideas will help you stay active in writing. Make sure to gather new ideas on a daily basis. You want to keep fresh ideas available all the time. Carry around a notebook in order to write them into it so you don't forget it. Make sure to label each article idea which category it falls under.
