4 Ways the iPod Touch 4G Has the iPhone 4 Beat

Several Things the 4th Generation iPod Touch Does Better Than the iPhone 4

The new 4th generation iPod Touch (4G) has been announced and due to its added support for FaceTime, its Retina display, HD video camera and other similar features the iPod Touch 4G is being dubbed an iPhone 4 clone. Following are several iPod Touch 4G features that sets it apart and makes it far from an iPhone 4 clone.

Added portability

If you were to sit the iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4 side by side, you'd notice that they feature two totally different designs, but the iPod Touch 4G sports the better one. The new 4th generation iPod Touch has a sleek and curvy design that differs a lot from the iPhone 4's stainless steel band which allows the iPod Touch 4G fit better in hand and weigh less. The added comfort, slimmer size, and feather-like weight make the iPod Touch 4G the most portable iPod Touch ever.

More sizes to choose from

In addition to being super comfortable and light-weight, the new 4th generation iPod Touch also gives its users more options to choose from with more capacity options to choose from than the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 only comes in 16GB and 32GB sizes, but the iPod Touch 4G can be purchased in 8GB, 32GB, and 64GB variants. With the 4th gen iPod Touch, users can opt for smaller and larger sized iPod Touches than are offered with the iPhone 4.

Price

When it comes to comparing items, there's hardly a better barometer than price. The 32GB iPod Touch 4G and 32GB iPhone 4 cost exactly the same at $299.99, but the iPod Touch 4G has a one-time flat fee of $299.99, while the iPhone 4G will constantly cost more month by month, by adding in phone plans, tethering costs, and those infamous hidden AT&T fees.

Antenna-gate anyone?

Sure, the new 4th generation iPod Touch isn't a cell phone like the iPhone 4, but it still has better Wi-Fi capabilities than the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 faced one of the biggest Apple controversies with its phone and internet dropping issues - known as "Antenna-gate" - and although the iPhone 4 has been able to live-down its antenna based issues, the iPod Touch 4G doesn't have such problems to overcome and will be easier to use via Wi-Fi.
