4-Year-Old Accused of Sexual Harassment
While getting on the bus the child hugged a female employee. The employee has stated that the child put his face in her chest. She then complained to the administrators at the La Vega Primary School.
The school sent a letter to the child's parents informing them that the preschooler was being suspended for inappropriate physical behavior that had been interpreted as sexual harassment and that the incident would be placed on the child's permanent school records.
According to news services, Damarcus Blackwell, the child's father said he believes it's ridiculous that the teacher would misread a hug from a 4-year-old. "For her to interpret it as anything other-- I think she should be evaluated," he said.
Blackwell wants the incident removed from his son's record, but the school has only agreed to change some of the wording and has stated that the teacher will not be required to apologize.
This is not the first time that a young child has been accused of sexual harassment. Back in February news sources reported that a 6 year old first grader at Downey Elementary in Brockton, Mass., was suspended from school for three days after officials said he sexually harassed one of his female classmates when he put two fingers inside the female classmate's waistband and touched her back.
The boy's mother, Berthena Dorinvil, insists that the whole incident was a misunderstanding and contends that the children were touching each other. Dorinvil has stated that her son has no concept of what sexual harassment is and requested that her son be moved to another school.
The school board stood behind their decision to suspend the young student and at the time only agreed to move the child to another class.

Post a CommentAs a "white" person, I would say that this incicdent has totally been blown out of proportion and that no child at the age of 4 understands the concept of sexual harassment. The teacher, black, white, purple or green should be ashamed of herself.

I suspect this adult teacher was a white woman. Typical trash! She needs help and quickly. I can assume she went home and did role play on this very incident. She has a sick mind and not only should lose her teaching license, but be barred from children and have mandatory psychiatric sessions for a year!
I think this woman should be fired immediately for just being plain stupid. How in the world could someone think that a four year old, assuming he hasn't been subjected to sexually explicit conduct, could have been sexually motivated in giving a hug. Something is rotten in Denmark. This woman has major issues and should be evaluated extensively, not to mention the administration. What were these idiots thinking?! Sounds to me like they weren't. A four year old being charged with sexual harassment is completely asinine. Who do we call to protest this?
Hi I live in a 3rd world country, I'm 24 and also have been charged with sexually harrasing (different in this situation) a lady police officer at 4 in the afternoon just infront of the police station (which is an unbeliaveble accusation), so I feel how they feel being accused of some b.llsh..t . My sincerity and regards to the lil kids family and I hope the correct lawyer will do justice against that ignorant women.

If this woman thinks that a 4 ear old finds her sexually attractive- I think she is the one who needs to be suspended! (If not psychologicaly evaluated)That is not a normal reaction to a hug from a small child! Who are these other adults that are backing this up? What the heck is wrong with them?
