'40 Days for Life' Pro Life Event More Than Halfway Through

We are now past the midpoint in the 40 Days For Life campaign and the prayerful, peaceful volunteers all over the nation are making a difference and seeing the effects of their prayers and outreach efforts. Many places are seeing women change their minds and keep their child, while others see an increase everyday in Pro Life volunteers who come out and join the effort.

So far there have been numerous reports, via emails from David Bereit who receives reports from the coordinators of each city, of the 40 Days effects in each city. Durango, Colorado reported abortionists not showing up for work and at least one child saved from abortion. Reno/Tahoe, Nevada has seen an increase in Pro Life activity which is a victory itself considering that area has been mostly Pro Choice. Queens, New York a woman who was going into a Planned Parenthood for services other than abortion decided to take her business elsewhere after talking to 40 Days For Life volunteers about Planned Parenthood. Morristown, New Jersey had so many people sign up they were able to cover eight vigil sites!

These are just a few of the stories. Not only have other people been reached and educated more on what abortion is and how it affects a woman, but the Pro Life volunteers who have come out to pray and hold vigil have said this has changed their life in so many ways. One coordinator said this campaign has taken away their "spiritual blindness." To top all this off, there are reports daily of women choosing life for their unborn children.

Planned Parenthood has noticed these effects and has taken steps to try and deter these Pro life volunteers. They have put up fences to keep these people from having contact with the women who are coming in for abortions. They are still asking Pro Choice advocates to "pledge a picketer" by making a donation to Planned Parenthood. In California fences have been erected during the campaign and in College Station, TX the Planned Parenthood has covered their fence with a black tarp to keep their clients from interacting with sidewalk counselors.

While they state that we are bringing out the extremists that is definitely the pot calling the kettle black. Extremist Pro Choice advocates have continually harassed the 40 Days For Life volunteers, committed vandalism (as heard of in previous articles) and lied about the actions of the volunteers to the public through canned press releases. So what does this say about the 40 Days For Life campaign? To anyone who is Pro Life and has seen how peaceful the 40 Days volunteers are, Planned Parenthood's actions say that we are making a difference and that they must be losing money and clientele.
