420 is Hot Web Search and Centers on the 420 Celebrations
420 Celebrations Include Rally's and Film Premiere
Supposedly 420 began back in 1971 at the San Rafael High School in the San Francisco Bay Area. Groups of students would meet by a Louis Pasteur statue on the High School campus at 4:20 p.m. in the afternoon to smoke pot. They would use the words "420 Louie" as a reminder to meet for the afternoon smoke. 420 spread quickly off the campus and into the culture of pot smokers on a much bigger scale.
And the 420 culture continues to grow even today. Such as in Vancouver, Canada there is a 420 rally were thousands of people have been known to shown up at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Also the University of Colorado has an annual 420 celebration and there is a huge event in New York City.
There is also the debut of a worldwide showing of a documentary entitled "How The Weed Won the West" based around 420, there will be 30 screenings on a worldwide basis. The LA showing will be at Paramount Studios at 7 p.m. PT and will be very flamboyant. There is also a 420 march planned before the Toronto screening that are expecting 30,000 people. The film will also be shown in Ireland, the UK, Romania and multiple sites in Canada as 420 is celebrated.
420 Magazine has spread the medicinal value of 420 in general for the last 17 years. 420 magazine encourages 420 activists to come together as a community in order to repeal what they consider to be the unjust prohibition laws against marijuana. At 4:20 a.m. ET this morning 420 magazine debuted their redesigned website www.420magazine.com. The website, as an online leader, is designed to "help celebrate and spread the positive message of Cannabis and Hemp awareness".

Post a CommentRecently a marijuana field in this area was destroyed by federal agents. I thought maybe instead of destroying these valuable plants, they should have harvested them for fuuture medicinal purposes.
