The 44th annual CMA Awards handed out last night in what some will say was a blowout for country music stars. Brad Paisley and former entertainer of the year Carried Underwood co-hosted the CMA Awards.

Miranda Lambert had a wonderful night taking home awards for Best Female Vocalist, album of the year for "Revolution," Song of the Year "House That Built Me "music video of the year "House That Built Me." Miranda Lambert's better half Blake Shelton took home a well-deserved win for male vocalist of the year and musical event of the year with Trace Adkins for "Hillbilly Bone." This duo is going to be something to contend with the next few years. The two seem to inspire each other because it sure does show in their music.

The new artist of the year went to the Zac Brown Band while the vocal group of the year went to none other then Lady Antebellum. Who also won single of the year for "Need You Now."

Vocal duo of the year was of course Sugarland while musician of the year went to Mac McAnally.

Brad Paisley in an emotional state accepted the award for Entertainer of the Year. Which he deserved because he shows he has what country music fans crave.

Miranda Lambert and Sheryl crow did an awesome job singing Loretta Lynn's "Coal Minors Daughter" for which Loretta joined in toward the end. Looking stunning and with a voice that has paved the way in country music for women.

Performers during the CMA Awards included co-host Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift. Zac Brown and Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum and Kenny Chesney gave other performances.

It was a night to remember at the CMA Awards Show. Now the countdown begins for CMA Country Christmas set to air Monday November 29 at 9:30 pm on ABC.
