4G Wireless Internet: When Can You Get It?!

Jerry
For only just a few years have people been using their cell phones as wireless Internet browsing devices. Within the last year or two, the 3G speed has become available on many of the top of the line phones. This speed revolutionized the way people used their phones - the web speed was finally fast enough to compete with a laptop! People started buying more and more smart phone devices, and some even went as far as to get 3G Internet service for their larger mobile devices, like netbooks, laptops, iPads, and so on.

More recently, the 3G speed has been outdone. Releasing the new 4G speed, Clear Wireless has the lead in this development. Clear is also the company that provides 4G wireless service for Sprint Wireless. Sprint has released their newest smart phones with the 4G capability, and consumers are "going wild". The first 4G phone by HTC was the Evo, and now there is a smaller version available, the Hero. Of course, these phones are only available exclusively through Sprint Wireless service.

When I spoke with a Clear representative, I was informed that 4G can actually outdo 3G by speeds up to ten fold that of the previous best! It is obvious that there is no alternative for handheld mobile devices when it comes to choosing a wireless provider. 4G is actually so fast, that it beats out several Wi-Fi signals at businesses, and now even at home. Clear does actually offer various at-home services, that allow you to connect to the Internet "out of the air" while at home. You can connect on a desktop through a USB wireless receiver, or you can even capture the signal using a Clear router and then route the signal out to other devices within 30-60 feet. This is great for people who like their Internet on the go.

The biggest concern currently with this service is that it is not available in all locations yet. Only major cities have 4G speeds available right now, however Clear and soon to be other providers are extending their reach daily. Soon, 4G will probably see the same coverage and potentially better than 3G. Another issue with this is that there are not very many providers currently, as the only one I have seen is Clear Wireless. Of course, there will be other providers soon, this monopoly is not fair. Soon, I'm sure Wireless Cell Phone companies will provide their own 4G service, not needed through another wireless provider.

T-Mobile has already introduced, the G2, their newest 4G phone. I'm not sure as to when T-Mobile will be getting their own 4G network, or they may already have it, but they will be one of the next followers of the path of the 4G.

To find out more about 4G, do some research, call a Clear representative, or give it a try for yourself!
