It's the 4th of July
Let freedom ring
Raise your voices in song
The Star Spangled Banner, we Americans will sing
We will celebrate the day
With family and friends
BBQ's galore
Until daylight ends
Then the sky will be lit
And the sparklers ignite
We watch in amazement
As the rockets take flight
Holding the hands our of children
And feeling the glow
As we honor our Country
American Pride we will show.

Post a CommentVery nice poem. :)
Wonderful day and poem :)
"...and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there..." Yes, singing our National Anthem has always evoked a sense of pride, each time I sing it.
