4th of July Cake

Elsie
My kids love this.

1 box of white cake mix
red and blue food coloring
1 tub of white icing
pint of blueberries
small container of strawberries
1 square cake pan.

Method:
Bake cake according to the directions on the box. When mixing put 1 drop of red food coloring and swirl around. Do not stir just swirl color around in cake mix. If you prefer you can use blue color and swirl around. Don't mix as you will come up with a purple color if you do. Use one or the other.Remove from oven when done and let set for about 5 minutes. Then turn upside down onto what ever you are using for a serving tray. I usually just leave mine in the pan.
When completely cool, frost with the white icing. Wash your blueberries and strawberries. Hull and slice the strawberries into thin slices long ways to make the stripes. Place the blueberries in the left upper corner for the stars. No certain amount, just what ever you think looks nice.
Place the strawberries in straight lines across the cake to represent the strips( narrow ends should all be pointed to the left and the fat part to the right in straight lines ). There you have it your 4th of July cake. Simple, easy and fun to make.
