Independence Day also what most of us just call the 4th of July, however you call this day you are always looking for fun things to do or a place to watch the fireworks with your family! Here are a few places I found that could be tons of fun and an enjoyment to watch the fireworks going off.

1. Colonial Heights Fireworks in Colonial Heights, Virginia

These fireworks will be displayed off Charles Dimmock Parkway and they are sponsored by City of Colonial Heights. The suggested viewing area's for these fireworks are the parking lots of either Wal-Mart or K-Mart. Be sure to bring a chair and blanket with you seeing as how the fireworks are not expected to start until 9:30 and will last for about 30 minutes so it may get a little chilly outside for some people.

2. Comcast's 4th of July Celebration in Chesterfield, Virginia

This event is at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. This event has children's activities and fireworks to enjoy. The gates open at 5:00 pm and the fireworks will start after dark. This is a FREE event. Be sure to bring your chair and a blanket for this event as well. There will be no alcohol, glass, pets, or personal fireworks allowed at this event so make sure to leave them at Home so that it will not be an issue for you.

3. All-American Celebration at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, Virginia

This event is FREE of charge into the gardens in honor of the 4th of July. You can dress up like a butterfly
or dress in Red, White and Blue for this event. There will be a Children's Garden Parade so be sure to
bring a stroller or wagon to decorate for your kids to participate in the parade! There will be music, water play, activities, and live butterfly display! The activity hours are from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and the Garden Hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

4. Independence Day Bash with the Richmond Kickers in Richmond, Virginia

The gates for this event at the University of Richmond Stadium will open at 11:00 am. This event features a splash zone, mascot dance off, and contest for the most patriotic fan. The soccer game will be the highlight of this event as the Kickers play the Charlotte Eagles at 1:00 pm. There will be fliers coming out, or you can download them at their website for a discounted $4.00 ticket coupon. The price for this event is $4.00 with the coupon or without the coupon is $12.00 for adults and $7.00 for youth.
