On July 3, 2009 at the Gallery Walk gathering, local painters/artists will display their exhibits at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Admission is free for this event and there will be refreshments on hand for viewers. For entertainment, music will also be provided. Started in 1989, this yearly festival attracts many tourists to Historic Downtown Hot Springs. The Gallery Walk gives many opportunites for artists to display and showcase their work. On July 4th, starting at 7 p.m., country music recording artist Craig Morgan will take the stage at Magic Springs. Known for his hit singles "That's What I Love About Sunday" and "Redneck Yacht Club", Morgan captivates audiences around the globe with his phenomenal lyrics and amazing voice. This concert is free w/admission for all ages. If you do not have season passes, you may purchase VIP tickets for $10 or regular seats for only $5. If you are into racing, the Wolfpack RC Racetrack is holding their 3rd Annual 4th of July Nitro Challenge. Located behind Jim's Pawn Shop at 3256 Airport Road, spectators may enjoy RC car racing at its best. Spectators may watch Buggy, Truggy, Monster Truck, 2wd, or 4wd Drive Electric Buggy races. This event is recommended for all ages. Whether you are a racer or a spectator, this is the perfect event for you. The track will be open all day on Friday July 3rd for practice. Beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday July 4th, racers may begin signing up to compete in the race. At 5 p.m., the race begins. The entry fee is $20 per each class and there will be payouts to the Top 3 of each class along with prizes, raffles, and other competitive challenges. All day on July 4th, Lake Catherine will hold their Independence Day Summer Celebration in the park. Included with this event will be tours of the park, hiking, swimming, crafts, and other friendly competitions. This outdoor event is perfect for all ages.
