4th of July Party Drinks

Liven up your 4th of July festivities with some fun party drinks! For the adults who want to let their hair down with a cocktail, as well as the designated drivers and any attending minors, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES


NOT YOUR DAUGHTER'S LEMONADE

  • 3 parts lemon-lime soda (Sprite, 7-Up)
  • 1 part sweet and sour mix
  • 1 part triple sec
  • 1 part bourbon

Mix all ingredients together. Add sliced lemons and ice.

JELLO SHOTS

  • 10 oz. Vodka
  • 2 -3 oz. packages of Jello
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. cold water

  1. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat.
  2. Dissolve the packages of Jello in 2 cups boiling water, stirring for at least 2 minutes, until gelatin is dissolved. Stir in ice-cold water and vodka.
  3. Pour mixture into shot glasses or paper cups. Let shots set in the refrigerator for at leat 4 fours.

TROPICAL PALMS BY MOONLIGHT
  • 1 1/2 oz. Vodka
  • 2 oz. orange juice
  • 2 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. Grenadine
  1. Mix Vodka and fruit juices.
  2. Pour over ice in a glass, and top with Grenadine.

COMFORTABLE SUMMER MOUNTAIN TOP

  • 1 1/2 oz Southern Comfort
  • 1 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1 1/2 oz Sour Mix
  • Mountain Dew
  1. Pour Southern Comfort, Triple Sec and Sour Mix over ice in a glass.
  2. Fill to top with Mountain Dew, stir and serve.

BEACH SPLASH
  • 1 oz Coconut Rum
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • 6 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Margarita Mix
  1. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled to half with ice cubes.
  2. Shake well, strain into a glass almost filled with ice cubes, and serve.

NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINKS

BANANABERRY SMOOTHIE

  • 10 oz. frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 1/3 c. pina colada mix
  • 2 c. ice
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • whipped cream
  1. Puree thawed strawberries in a blender.
  2. Add pina colada mix and ice.
  3. Slice the banana and place slices in blender.
  4. Blend on high until drink is smooth.
  5. Top each drink served with whipped cream.

FRUIT SPARKLE PUNCH

  • 1 banana -- ripe
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  1. Puree banana in blender.
  2. Add orange juice. Shake until smooth and creamy.
  3. Mix in ginger ale. Serve over ice.

CHERRY SMOOTHIE

  • 1 pint vanilla frozen yogurt
  • 8 oz. bottle cherry juice
  • 1/4 lb. cherries, pitted
  • 2 c. ice cubes

In blender, puree yogurt, cherry juice and ice until smooth. Divide mixture among chilled glasses.

PINEAPPLE FREEZY

  • 4 cups 1-inch pieces pineapple (about
  • 1 medium)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  1. Place all ingredients in blender. Cover and blend, stopping occasionally to scrape sides, until smooth.
  2. Pour into loaf pan. Cover and freeze about 2 hours.
  3. Spoon partially frozen mixture into blender. Cover and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour into pan. Cover and freeze about 3 hours.
  5. Let stand 10 minutes at room temperature before spooning into small bowls/goblets.

INDEPENDENCE PUNCH
  • 6 c Orange juice
  • 20 oz Frozen strawberries
  • 2 c Cranberry juice
  • 3 c Ginger ale
  1. Blend together orange juice, strawberries, and cranberry juice.
  2. Add ginger ale immediately before serving.
