4th of July Recipe: Patriotic Cupcake Dessert
Red, White and Blue 4th of July Cupcakes Are Easy to Make and Will Impress Your Guests
This dessert recipe is unique because it requires mixing and layering different colors of cake batter in cupcake liners. While this may sound complicated, these cupcakes are very easy to make and will impress your guests. For this 4th of July recipe, red and blue food coloring will be used to make patriotic cupcakes.
Ingredients for patriotic cupcakes:
3 bowl
1 box of white cake mix
Red food coloring
Blue food coloring
White Frosting
Red, white or blue cupcake liners
Red, white and blue sprinkles
Directions for patriotic cupcakes:
First, make the cake mix according to package. Once the batter is mixed, separate it into three parts. Put 1/3 of the batter in each of the three bowls.
Next, add blue food coloring to one of the bowls. The more you add, the deeper the color will be. Mix in the food coloring until you are happy with the color. Repeat this process with the red food coloring in a separate bowl.
Now it's time to layer the batter. First, evenly distribute the blue batter to all of your cupcake tins. The blue will be on the bottom of the cupcakes.
Next, do the same with the white batter. Gently pour the white batter on the blue batter that is already in the cupcake liners. The white batter will be the second layer and in the middle of your cupcakes.
Finally, finish the layering process using the red batter. The red batter will be the last color and will top off your patriotic cupcake.
If you just want even red white and blue layers, these cupcakes are now ready for the oven. If you want your cupcakes to be red, white and blue throughout, use a toothpick to gently swirl around the batter for an interesting tie-dye effect.
Next, bake your cupcakes according to the directions on the back of the cake mix box. While they are baking, separate the frosting into three bowls and mix in the red and blue food coloring into two of them. After the cupcakes have cooled, decorate them using the colored frosting. Finish them off with red, white and blue sprinkles.
Your guests will love finding a colorful surprise as they take a bite into these 4th of July cupcakes.
